IKM-M softball top seed as WIC tourneys begin

 AREA (June 25) -- The annual Western Iowa Conference Baseball and Softball Tournaments will be held this week, with the championship games slated for Thursday night in softball and Friday night in baseball.
 The 2nd-ranked (2A) IKM-Manning softball team, last year’s WIC Tournament champion, is unbeaten in conference play so far and will be the top seed. The Wolves will host either Griswold or Missouri Valley in a Tuesday night quarterfinal after the Tigers and Lady Reds squre off first at 5:30 p.m in Irwin. In other quarterfinal action, sixth-seeded AHSTW will play at third-seeded Logan-Magnolia Tuesday night at approximately 7:30.
 The WIC Baseball Tournament first round and quarterfinal games were rained out Monday and rescheduled for Tuesday, June 26. AHSTW and IKM-Manning are seeded seventh and eighth, respectively.
