IKM-M’s Dreyer places fifth at Logan-Magnolia Invite
LOGAN (Aug. 30) -- Quentin Dreyer’s fifth-place individual finish led the IKM-Manning boys to third as a team at Thursday’s Logan-Magnolia Cross Country Invitational. The meet was postponed two days due to rain.
Team champions were the Lo-Ma girls with an impressive team score of 25 and the Tri-Center boys (62). The boys team race was very competitive as Denison-Schleswig took second with a 67, followed by IKM-M (74), Missouri Valley (76) and St. Albert (78).
Dreyer’s fifth-place time of 17:03 paced the Wolves, who also boasted two other medalists in Tanner Spoelstra (13th) and Connor Keller (18th). The IKM-M girls had just three girls competing and were led by McKenna Mullen in 34th and Emma Beerman in 36th.
The AHSTW girls placed fourth with a score of 118, led by Chloe Falkena in 17th, Jade Draman (20th) and Julia Kock (23rd). Cody Roskens led three Viking boys by placing 20th and also took home a medal.
Tri-Center’s Peyton Pogge was Thursday’s girls champion in 17:57 while three Lo-Ma girls - Taylor Sporrer, Courtney Sporrer and Kylie Morrison - rounded out the top four.
Missouri Valley’s Jordan Hustak won the boys race by nine seconds (16:14 to 16:23) over Boyer Valley’s Justin Ambrose.
