Huskies add to frustrating Cyclone fall

 HARLAN -- In the span of a week, Harlan Community has gone from fighting for its playoff life to trying to avoid the basement of Class 3-A, District 7.
 A frustrating football season reached a new low point Friday night as HCHS was soundly defeated by Winterset, 47-21, at Merrill Field. The Cyclones (2-5 overall) are now tied with Denison-Schleswig for sixth place in the district with a record of 1-4 going into this week’s clash at Denison.
 Winterset improved to 2-5 overall and 2-3 in district play, outgaining HCHS 516-319 in total offense and winning the turnover battle four to one. The Huskies ran the ball 44 times for 363 yards, almost all of it coming from running back Brad Benshoof (203 on 20 carries) and quarterback Noah Larson (145 on 13).
