HCHS wrestlers tie for third at Mt. Ayr

 MOUNT AYR -- The Harlan Community wrestling team finished with a hard-luck 5-3 record and tied for third place out of nine teams at the Ron Scott Memorial Dual Tournament in Mount Ayr January 12-13.
 HCHS opened the tournament Friday with a 42-39 loss to eventual champion Lathrop (Missouri) and suffered its only other losses based on criteria after finishing in a dual tie against both Shenandoah (31-30 loss Friday night) and Martensdale-St. Marys (37-36 loss Saturday morning).
 The Cyclones outscored their remaining five foes by margins of 13 points or greater, including lopsided wins over Central Decatur (60-15), Mount Ayr (63-18) and Durant (66-6).
 Individually, the Cyclones were led by 7-1 records from 126-pounder Dalton McKinley, Oscar Olmos at 145 and Joseph Arkfeld at 220. Joe Devine and Brenden Bartley, meanwhile, combined to go 7-1 at 152.
