HCHS soccer girls win opener

 CRESTON -- The Harlan Community girls soccer team opened the 2017 season with a win on Tuesday, holding off the Creston Panthers 2-1 in Hawkeye Ten Conference play.
 HCHS took a 2-0 lead at halftime on Haley Arkfeld’s breakaway goal and a penalty kick by Jenna Brelje. The Cyclones were able to stave off several Panther attacks the rest of the way as junior goalie Kenzie Jones finished with 12 saves.
