HCHS opens volleyball practice with 32-player roster

 HARLAN -- The Harlan Community volleyball team opened practices for the 2016 season on Monday morning, sporting a roster of 32 players in grades 9-12.
 HCHS graduated three all-state players off last year’s 37-6, Class 4-A state runner-up squad in Taylor Frederick (Elite First Team), Jordyn Moser (Second Team) and Jessica DuVal (Second Team), but returns a pair of all-conference selections in Sidney Craig (Second Team) and Brenda Hopkins (Honorable Mention).
 Head coach Angie Spangenberg returns several other key contributors from last season and is excited about the varsity newcomers as well.
 The Cyclones will host a scrimmage against IKM-Manning, Treynor and Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln on Tuesday, August 16, at 5:00 p.m. and will open the season on Saturday, August 27, by hosting the Cyclone Invitational at 8:30 a.m.
