Cyclones finish regular season Friday night

CARROLL -- A balanced, quality field awaits the Harlan Community boys basketball team as it prepares to compete as the number five seed in Class 3A, Substate 8.
The Cyclones, 10-7 overall entering their final two regular season games, will open postseason play Monday night (Feb. 18) in Carroll, facing fourth-seeded Winterset (13-6) at 6:30 p.m. The winner will play either top-seeded and eighth-ranked Carroll (16-3) or Perry (0-18) in the semifinal round February 21.
The opposite half of the bracket includes ninth-ranked Denison-Schleswig vs. Atlantic and Glenwood (just outside the AP Top 10) vs. Creston in first-round matchups.
Winterset shares three common opponents with HCHS so far as both teams have beaten Atlantic, Creston and Ballard. The Huskies, led by Easton Darling’s 20.5 points per game, have also split their season series with Carroll.
