HCHS girls tennis team starts 0-2

 AREA (April 9) -- The Harlan Community girls tennis team lost by a pair of 8-1 dual scores in its first two meets of the season last Friday (April 5) at Denison and Tuesday at home against Lewis Central.
 The Cyclones return four players with varsity experience from last year’s 2-9 campaign, led by new number one singles player Elise Juhl.
 Juhl teamed with Bobbie Schechinger for an 8-5 win in doubles play against the Monarchs but HCHS was unable to win any other matches. The closest singles match came at the No. 5 spot, where Anna Nelson lost 6-8 to Denison’s Jocelyn Olivera.
 Against Lewis Central, Schechinger recorded the Cyclones’ only win in No. 6 singles with an 8-2 decision over Regan Loyle.
