HCHS girls snap losing skid behind Arkfeld’s four goals

Cyclones top AHSTW, 4-2

AVOCA -- The losing streak is over for the Harlan Community girls soccer team.
Getting a career-high four goals from junior forward Haley Arkfeld, the Cyclones took an early 2-0 lead and never trailed in Tuesday’s non-conference game at AHSTW, posting a 4-2 win that stopped a nine-game, five-week slide.
HCHS improved to 2-9 on the year while AHSTW fell to 3-4 overall. All three Lady Vike wins came against teams that had already beaten the Cyclones.
HCHS head coach Jared Boysen said the victory should provide both relief and a sense of confidence for his team.
