HCHS girls bowlers set three school records

 COUNCIL BLUFFS (Feb. 5) -- The Harlan Community girls bowling team set three school records at Thunderbowl in Council Bluffs last Tuesday, defeating Lewis Central and St. Albert to improve to 9-2 on the season.
 The Cyclone girls posted a school record total score of 2,650 - 330 pins ahead of LC - and also set new marks with a Baker game of 234 and a Baker games total of 952.
 Individual leaders for the HCHS girls included Ania Kaster with a 363 (203-160), Jayden Gessert 345 (153-192), Olivia Petersen 339 (173-166) and Abby Swank 337 (172-165).
 The Cyclone boys went 1-1 on the day and finished the regular season at 4-7. Lewis Central won the meet with a total of 3,199, followed by HCHS (2,525) and St. Albert (2,430). William Funke led the Cyclones with a 409 series, which included a high game of 266. Samuel Andersen rolled a 398 (193-205) and Darren Stein had a 382 (169-213).
 HCHS also bowled at Red Oak on February 1 and split the coed meet. The Cyclone girls won 2,343 to 2,286 and the boys lost 2,730 to 2,456.
