HCHS finishes 2-4 at Red Oak Tourney

 GLENWOOD (Sept. 15) -- Harlan Community won its final two matches of the day to win the bronze pool of last Saturday’s Red Oak Volleyball Tournament, which was moved to Glenwood because of renovations at the Red Oak school.
 HCHS finished with a 2-4 match record on the day (4-9 in sets), with all four losses coming against teams rated in the top 10 of their class.
 In the first round of pool play, the Cyclones lost to No. 8 (2A) Treynor (16-21, 22-24) and No. 6 (2A) Sidney (10-21, 12-21).
 In the next round of pool play, the Cyclones lost to No. 7 (2A) Tri-Center (17-21, 8-21) and No. 8 (3A) Mount Vernon (12-21, 14-21).
 HCHS finished the day with bronze pool wins over Creston (21-18, 21-17) and Clarinda (14-21, 21-18, 15-11).
 Cyclone stat leaders on the day included Anna Ahrenholtz and Olivia Petersen with 30 kills each, Haley Manz with six ace serves, Lauren Andersen with seven blocks, Kara Weis with 93 assists and Ashley Hall with 46 digs.
