HCHS boys placed in Substate 8

 REGIONAL -- The Harlan Community boys basketball team will be grouped with several familiar opponents when the Class 3A, Substate 8 brackets are released in the coming weeks.
 The Iowa High School Athletic Association released its postseason assignments for Class 3A and 4A teams on January 25, placing the Cyclones in Substate 8 along with Atlantic, Carroll, Creston, Denison-Schleswig, Glenwood, Perry and Winterset. The substate pairings will be announced following a coaches’ seeding meeting the week of Feb. 4-8.
 Carroll (11-2) is ranked seventh by the Associated Press in the current rankings while Denison-Schleswig (10-4) and Glenwood (11-4) are both receiving AP votes. HCHS (9-6) and Winterset (9-5) also sport winning records.
