HCHS boys place fourth at Wildcat Relays

 CARLISLE (April 23) -- The Harlan Community boys track team placed fourth with 85 points at Tuesday’s Carlisle Wildcat Relays, scoring 14 times in 13 of 19 events.
 Carlisle and Nevada led the field with five gold medals each, but it was Indianola winning the team title with 132 points. Carlisle placed second with 117.5 and Norwalk was third with 95.
 The highlight of the night for HCHS was sophomore Trey Gross winning the 3,200-meter run with a new personal-best time of 10:18.94, an improvement of nearly 17 seconds.
 Caleb Bieker earned the only other Cyclone gold by winning the shot put and also placed fifth in the discus. Derec Weyer placed second in the shot put while Michael Erlemeier was second in the long jump and fourth in the 100 dash.
 Eli Boldan placed second in the 200 with a ‘PR’ of 23.67 and also teamed with Jake McLaughlin, Johnathan Monson and Erlemeier for third in the sprint medley relay (season-best 1:37.24).
