HCHS boys handle Red Oak, even dual tennis record at 5-5

 HARLAN (May 4) -- Highlighted by Brock Bruns’ hard-fought tiebreaker win in the number one singles match, the Harlan Community boys tennis team evened its dual record at 5-5 here Friday with a 7-2 victory over Red Oak.
 HCHS, which finished 3-5 vs. Hawkeye Ten Conference foes, won five out of seven contested matches and also won twice by forfeit as Red Oak (1-10 overall, 0-9 H-10) had just five players available.
 Bruns outlasted Garrett Rolenc 9-8 (7-5) in the best match of the day, taking a 6-2 lead in the tiebreaker before holding on for the win. Kaleb Kaster (8-3), Bailey Schmitz (8-1) and Lucas Schmitz (8-0) also won in singles play while the No. 2 doubles team of Kaster and Jonny Cheek prevailed 8-5.
