HCHS bounces back, outscores Lady Vikes 6-1

HARLAN -- One night after suffering a 10-0 loss at the hands of Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson, the Harlan Community girls soccer team picked up a much-needed 6-1 home win over AHSTW in non-conference action on Tuesday (May 9).
Kylee Hinz and Haley Arkfeld scored two goals each for the Cyclones while freshman Lucy Borkowski and senior Michaela Bissen both scored their first goal of the season.
Bissen also had two assists in the match as HCHS improved to 4-7 overall. The Lady Vikes are now 3-7.
Only a long, high shot by Lady Vike sophomore Katie Anzalone prevented a shutout as Anzalone’s 62nd minute goal fit perfectly over Jones’ hands and just below the crossbar.
