HCHS battles to second place at Wolfpack Classic

 HULL -- Losing only to Western Christian in a pair of tightly-contested matches, the Harlan Community volleyball team placed second with a 4-2 record at Saturday’s Wolfpack Kooima-Kaemingk Classic in Hull.
 HCHS finished second in Pool A to Western Christian following a 17-21, 19-21 loss in the morning, then set up a rematch in the championship round after sweeping Sioux City Bishop Heelan 21-13, 21-15 in the semifinals.
 The 2nd-ranked (Class 4-A) Cyclones (25-5) and top-ranked (2-A) Wolfpack (32-4) would go to a third set in the finals with Western Christian prevailing 21-19, 18-21, 15-12. Kaira Moss had eight kills and a .316 efficiency to lead a balanced Wolfpack attack in the championship match, while Taylor Frederick tallied 14 kills (.250 efficiency) to pace HCHS.
