Foss wins long jump as Cyclone boys fifth at Cardinal Relays

 CLARINDA -- Led by Nick Foss’ gold medal in the long jump, Harlan Community scored 19 times in 16 events and placed fifth in the “Class 3-A” division of Friday’s Clarinda Cardinal Relays boys track meet.
 Glenwood won the 3-A team title with 152 points, followed by Lewis Central (124), Atlantic (89), Thomas Jefferson (86) and HCHS (66). The 2-A division was won by Griswold, which scored 124 points to edge St. Albert (121).
 Foss continued a steady trend of jumping around 21 feet in the long jump with his winning leap of 21-0.75 on Friday. He also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash and helped the Cyclones place third with season-best times in both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays.
 HCHS took third in the distance medley relay as well with a season-best of 3:57.4 as Reagan Hansen ran the 800-meter anchor leg.
