Foss commits to Minnesota State

 HARLAN (Jan. 1) -- Harlan Community senior Nick Foss announced on Twitter Monday his verbal commitment to play football at Minnesota State University in Mankato. The Mavericks are an NCAA Division II program and finished 13-1 this past season, reaching the quarterfinal round of the D-II playoffs before losing 31-21 to Texas A&M-Commerce.

 Foss was named the Class 3A captain of the Iowa Newspaper Association’s All-State Football teams this past fall after finishing his three-year varsity career with 6,081 all-purpose yards and a school-record tying 71 touchdowns. He helped the Cyclones to a 10-2 overall record and a state semifinal playoff berth in 2017, rushing for 2,006 yards, scoring 38 total touchdowns and finishing with 45 total tackles and two interceptions on defense.
