Ev Carroll’s 71 leads Spartans to RVC Golf title

Anthofer places third for E-EHK girls

 ATLANTIC (May 6) -- Led by Ev Carroll’s two-over-par round of 71 at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club, the Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton boys golfers posted three of the top four scores to win the Rolling Valley Conference Tournament team title by 35 strokes over CAM here Monday.
 Ev Carroll won the individual RVC championship by five shots over CAM’s Ben Tibken, 71-76. The Spartans also claimed the third and fourth-place medalists as Will Carroll shot a 77 and Cole Burmeister had an 82. Tyler Petersen’s 92 rounded out the winning team score of 322.
 The Spartan girls also had a medalist in Jacey Anthofer, who placed third with a 93 behind CAM’s Sammi Jahde (89) and Boyer Valley’s Abbie Miller (91). Mary Carroll (113) and Lauren Hansen (114) posted the next-best scores for Exira-EHK, which placed fourth as a team with a 456. Boyer Valley won the girls team title with a score of 390, finishing 44 shots ahead of second-place Coon Rapids-Bayard.
