Cyclones regain share of Hawkeye Ten lead

HCHS triangular sweep, coupled with Lewis Central win over Kuemper, leads to first-place tie

COUNCIL BLUFFS -- All in all, it was a busy and successful Tuesday night in Council Bluffs for the Harlan Community volleyball team.
Playing seven rapid-fire sets within a three-hour window - four of them highly competive - the Cyclones handled their own business first by winning a Hawkeye Ten triangular vs. St. Albert (3-1) and Glenwood (3-0).
Across town, Lewis Central made the night even better by sweeping Kuemper Catholic 3-0, thus forcing a three-way tie atop the conference standings between Kuemper (7-1), HCHS (6-1) and LC (6-1).
The 3rd-ranked (Class 4-A) Cyclones have now won 10 straight matches since their September 15 home loss to Kuemper, improving to 21-3 overall going into a tough slate of matches at Saturday’s Western Christian Wolfpack Kooima-Kaemingk Classic in Hull.
