Cyclone softball team rules St. Albert twice: 10-0, 15-5

 HARLAN (June 26) -- The Harlan Community softball team notched its fourth doubleheader sweep in Hawkeye Ten Conference play here Tuesday, beating St. Albert 10-0 and 15-5 in a pair of five-inning games.
 HCHS eighth-grader Kate Heithoff finished the night with totals of four hits, seven RBI and four runs scored as the Cyclones (13-14 overall) improved their conference record to 11-6, thus clinching a winning league mark.
 HCHS scored its 25 runs with the aid of 17 total hits and 10 St. Albert errors. The struggling Saintes dropped to 1-20 overall and 0-14 in the H-10.

 Morgan Schaben (three innings) and Emily Brouse (two) combined on a one-hit shutout in game one and faced just one batter over the minimum. Schaben (8-10) walked one and struck out six while Brouse had one walk and four strikeouts. The Cyclones weren’t tested often defensively, but did throw out two of St. Albert’s three base runners.
 Heithoff scored three runs and went 2-for-4, hitting an RBI double and a two-run single. Lexi Larsen and courtesy runner Jordan Heese both scored twice.
HCHS 15, St. Albert 5 (5)
 After finishing game one in the circle, Brouse (4-2) pitched the first three frames of the night cap for the win, allowing one hit, one walk and a run while striking out six. It was her first pitching action in two weeks as she recovered from a sprained ankle.
 Tianna Kasperbauer went the final two innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs.
 Offensive contributions were spread throughout the lineup as eight Cyclones combined for 11 hits. Larsen was 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI and three runs scored, Heithoff singled twice and drove in four and Kasperbauer had a pair of RBI hits and scored twice.
