Cyclone soccer boys roll to 10-1

COUNCIL BLUFFS (May 5) -- Playing its first game in a full week, the Harlan Community boys soccer team built a 2-0 halftime lead before pulling away in the final 40 minutes Saturday morning to beat Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson 8-0 on a grass field at the Gale Wickersham Athletic Complex.
Seven players scored at least one goal for the fifth-ranked (Class 2A) Cyclones, who dominated the Yellow Jackets in shot attempts (34-4 overall, 21-2 on goal) and improved their record to a sparkling 10-1. Tee Jay, which scored its first win the previous night against Tri-Center, dropped to 1-11.
The Cyclones scored their last four goals during a four-minute span of the second half - between the 64th and 68th minutes - to turn the game into a rout.
Senior Dylan Eshelman was the final player to score and the only one with two goals, scoring off a double-assist from Cole Kramer and Aaron Wollaston and another nice pass from Tanner Fink. Eshelman leads the team with 10 goals on the year while Fink has a team-best six assists.
