Cyclone girls top Heelan in scrimmage

HARLAN -- Jordyn Moser led three Harlan Community players in double figures with 19 points as the Cyclone girls topped Sioux City Bishop Heelan, 62-49, in the annual Hall of Pride Scrimmage here Tuesday night.
HCHS, ranked third in Class 4-A to start the season, built a 28-15 halftime lead on the 9th-ranked Crusaders and made it stand the rest of the way. Taylor Frederick scored 14 points for HCHS, Allison Bruck had 13 and Clare Klein added eight. Charlie Long led Heelan with 10 points.
Cyclone head coach Zach Klaassen said it was “good to play a full game against a quality opponent” as the team prepares for Tuesday’s season opener (at home) vs. fourth-ranked (Class 5-A) Dowling Catholic. The JV-Varsity doubleheader will start at 6:00 p.m.
