CAM tops Lady Vikes

 AVOCA (Nov. 20) -- CAM used a big second quarter to pull away from the AHSTW girls basketball team last Tuesday, then held off a second-half rally to beat the Lady Vikes 64-56. The Cougars are ranked sixth in Class 1A to start the year by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
 AHSTW (1-1) finished with a balanced scoring attack in defeat as Kinsey Scheffler scored 12 points, followed by Claire Harris and Claire Denning with 11 each and Katie Anzalone with 10. Kate Wise, Kailey Jones and Julia Kock added six, four and two points, respectively. Denning (2-for-2), Anzalone (2-for-3) and Harris all knocked down a pair of treys while Jones, Harris and Scheffler had 11-12 rebounds.
