Area Girls Basketball - Spartans, Wolves post wins

Exira-EHK 81, West Harrison 45
 MONDAMIN (Jan. 17) -- The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton girls raced out to a 34-8 lead after one quarter and drained 10 three-pointers last Thursday night in an 81-45 road win over West Harrison.
 Freshman Macy Emgarten led four Spartans in double figures with 18 points and also blocked four shots. Tatum Grubbs scored 17 points, followed by Leslie Caniglia with 16 points, 10 rebounds and four steals and Mollie Rasmussen with 12 points. Grubbs (3-for-3) and Rasmussen both made three treys and Emgarten added a pair.
 Ellie Schultes finished the night with nine assists to go with her five points. Also scoring were Jayda Bowlin with eight points, Kamryn Waymire three and Alisa Partridge two. Waymire added a team-high six steals.

IKM-Manning 72, Mo. Valley 26
 MANNING (Jan. 17) -- The IKM-Manning girls exploded for 34 second-quarter points and cruised past Missouri Valley 72-26 last Thursday after leading 50-17 at the half.
 The Wolves crashed the boards for 22 offensive rebounds in the game and racked up 22 steals and nine blocked shots defensively.
 Sophomore Alexa Ahrenholtz led IKM-M with 23 points (three 3-pointers), nine steals and five assists while Gabby Cadwell (11 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 steals) and Sydney Wegner (7 offensive rebounds) both scored 17. Caitlin Muhlbauer added eight points and three steals, Nicole Hanson scored five and Lexi Branning had two.
