Clay in the hunt for 100, 200 state golds

TREYNOR (May 10) -- AHSTW will take its largest contingent of qualifiers in years to the Co-Ed State Track Meet in Des Moines later this week following a successful showing at Thursday’s Class 2A State Qualifying Meet in Treynor.
Highlighted by the fastest 100-meter qualifying times in all of 2A, the Lady Vikes advanced eight events to state and the Viking boys qualified six entries in five events. The state meet will be held May 17-19 at Drake Stadium.
Aided by a tail wind on Treynor’s east-west running track, AHSTW freshman Cora Comer and senior Gage Clay posted Class 2A’s top 100-meter dash girls and boys qualifying times, respectively.
