AHSTW girls open regional play vs. T-C

AVOCA -- The AHSTW girls basketball team will host Tri-Center in a Class 2A, Region 8 first round game Saturday (Feb. 9) at 7:00 p.m. The Lady Vikes (14-6) beat the Trojans twice during the regular season in a pair of competitive games.
Saturday’s winner will play at Sidney Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Region 8 also includes third-ranked Treynor, IKM-Manning and Woodbury Central, who received first-round byes.
AHSTW finished the regular season with a 58-55 home win over Nodaway Valley Monday night and a 72-48 win at Audubon Tuesday. Claire Denning led the team with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six steals vs. the Wolverines, Claire Harris scored 15 points and Kailey Jones had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
