Ahrenholtz scores 24 in IKM-M girls’ win

 AUDUBON (Nov. 27) -- The IKM-Manning girls took control with an early 14-0 run and got 24 points from sophomore guard Alexa Ahrenholtz to open the season with a 68-44 conference win at Audubon Tuesday night.
 The Wolves’ 14 unanswered points put them up 18-3 late in the first quarter and they were able to pull away even more in the third, outscoring the Wheelers 18-8.
 Audubon (0-3 overall, 0-1 Western Iowa Conference) was led by Leah Subbert’s 10 points and three assists. The Wheelers turned the ball over 25 times against IKM-M pressure and shot just 33.3 percent from the field.
 Ahrenholtz scored 16 of her game-high 24 in the second half and buried 4-of-7 three-pointers on the night, rounding out a solid all-around performance with six rebounds, three assists and four steals.
 Caitlin Muhlbauer also hit double figures for the Wolves with 12 points (five boards, three assists, four steals), Lexi Branning and Gabrielle Cadwell both scored eight points and Sydney Wegner and Nicole Hanson added seven apiece.
