3-A final four has a little of everything

 DES MOINES -- It should be an interesting two days that determine the Class 3-A champion of the 2016 State Baseball Tournament at Principal Park.
 Friday’s 3-A semifinals will feature the top pitching team in the field (Pella) vs. the top hitting team (Carlisle), followed by the team with the best record (Harlan Community) against the Cinderella qualifier with the most losses (Solon). The winners meet in the state title game Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
 In Friday’s first semifinal at 11 a.m., second-seeded and fifth-ranked Pella (31-8) will take on third-seeded, seventh-ranked Carlisle (32-6). The two teams opened the season against one another on May 23, with Carlisle winning 4-3.
