Dorothy A. Wolf, 90

GREENVILLE, MI – Dorothy was born in Portsmouth on June 9, 1929, the daughter of Andrew and Hazel (Bendon) Gau. She grew up on a farm in rural Iowa and after graduating from high school, attended Drake University and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She then taught in one room country schoolhouses in Shelby County. On January 28, 1954 Dorothy married Jack Wolf of Walnut and they began their life together in Michigan. In 1959, she and Jack purchased Wolf’s Jewelers from his uncle, and they worked side by side in the business for 42 years.
Dorothy passed on to eternal life on Thursday, August 8, 2019.  
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Andrew and Hazel Gau; and a sister and her husband, Donna and William Buckley.
She is survived by her children, Jeff (Sherri) Wolf of Saline and Lori (David) Magirl of Greenville; grandchildren, Andrew (Lauren) Magirl, Carter Magirl, Michael Wolf, and Jennifer Wolf; great-grandson, Owen James Magirl; sister, Lois (Don) Rosenow of Tipton; and brothers, Phillip (Connie) Gau and Dean (Maxine) Gau all of Portsmouth.
 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Dorothy at 11 am Friday, August 16 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Rev. Mark Bauer presiding.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Charles School, American Cancer Society or Parkinson’s Association of West Michigan.
