Barry Lynn Hollander

Celebration of Life to be held July 7

TOWNSEND, MT – Barry Lynn Hollander, son of Kenneth Hollander and Bev Weinbrandt, was born on January 29, 1965 in Council Bluffs.  He was raised in Harlan where he attended school graduating from Harlan Community High School with the class of 1983.
After high school, Barry attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs where he studied accounting. While in college, he worked at First National Bank and continued working there a short while after graduation.
Barry then moved to Denver, CO where he took a job in the accounting department of Kraft Foods.  But his love for the outdoors led him to a career in construction where he spent several years helping build homes in the Denver area.
In 2001, Barry moved to Gallatin, MT where he started his own construction company, B & H Construction.  It was in Gallatin that he married his longtime girlfriend Shari Burkel on August 22, 2008.
In 2013, Barry made his home in Townsend, MT and this is where he died after a short time on hospice care on April 16, 2018 having attained the age of 53 years, two months and 18 days.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Scott Hollander.
Barry is survived by his mother, Bev Brown of Bloomfield, NE; his brothers and sisters: Ronda and her husband Darrell  Bockmann of Boone; Steven Hollander and his wife Sherie of Glenwood; Doug Hollander of Bloomfield, NE and Jill and her husband Dennis Doerr of Bloomfield, NE; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life reception was held at the West Side in Harlan on July 7, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
Pauley Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
