Unopposed Harlan candidates elected
COUNTY -- Voter turnout was low for Tuesday’s municipal election that saw many incumbents elected to office as well as write-in candidates.
Harlan saw only a 1.9 percent voter turnout. Incumbent Mayor Gene Gettys, Jr. received a total of 56 votes in retaining his mayor position. David H. Pedersen earned 56 votes for the at-large (Lincoln) council seat, and David Miller received 14 votes to retain his ward 2 position.
Sharon Kroger garnered 58 votes to fill a vacancy in the at-large (Center) council seat election, and Greg Bladt received three votes to take the ward 4 city council position.
