Sanders wows overflow crowd
HARLAN - Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders held a rousing town hall meeting with upwards of 325 - 350 in attendance in the standing room only Therkildsen Activity Center here. Bernard “Bernie” Sanders, is a junior U.S. Sen. from Vermont and as of 2015, he had been the longest-serving Independent ever in the U.S. Congress.
Sanders was welcomed to the stage by Harlanites Ellen Walsh-Rosmann and her husband, Dan Rosmann, as well as by Cass County Democratic leader, Shirley Tolle.
During the 45-minute meeting Sanders was interrupted 15 times by applause from party followers, independents and the curious, who wanted to learn more about his campaign.
