Log Cabin Day aims to preserve local history

HARLAN -- Log Cabin Day is hoping to preserve Shelby County’s history with a few of the locals’ favorites during the celebration on Sunday, June 5.
“What we are really focusing on this year is keeping some of our old favorites, but making it better for the visitor experience,” said Nate Buman, director of the Shelby County Historical Museum. “We are trying to preserve the overall story of our county’s past.”
Featured in this year’s Log Cabin Day will be a steam pumper from the Harlan Fire Department, a Nelson gas engine and Deen Family looms.
