Kenkel, Parkhurst take primary election victories
COUNTY – Incumbent Shelby County Supervisors Steve Kenkel and Charles Parkhurst will retain their board seats following a convincing victory in Tuesday’s Republican primary election.
Kenkel earned 540 votes and Parkhurst tallied 478 votes, while newcomer and challenger Loren R. Christensen finished a distant third with 310 votes.
All three were on the Republican ticket vying for two open supervisor board seats, meaning the race for supervisor was determined Tuesday.
Kenkel and Parkhurst are both seeking their second four-year term in office.
