Home, Garden & Living Show March 19-20 in Harlan

30th Anniversary Celebration!

HARLAN -- The Harlan Newspapers’ Annual Home, Garden & Living Show is set for Saturday and Sunday, March 19-20 in Veterans Memorial Auditorium, Harlan.
Approximately 2,000 people attend the free event each year, which runs 4:30-8 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday.
This year’s show will feature 34 businesses and organizations. “You’ll find energy efficiency products, landscaping ideas, home furniture and decor options,  lawn and garden equipment and so much more, all under one roof,” said Mike Kolbe, event organizer.
Something new this year will be a Sports Bounce House in which kids can entertain themselves while their parents take in the show.  In addition, Tiarks School of Dance will again be on site offering sandwiches and other refreshments.
“It’s hard to believe we’ve been hosting this event for 30 years,” said Kolbe. “We appreciate the many vendors that have participated through the years, as well as the community’s support with tremendous attendance.
“Many businesses have been on board for nearly every show, and we’re used to seeing hundreds of familiar faces strolling the aisles looking for new products and services.”
Kolbe encourages everyone to take their time and visit with a wide variety of vendors. “You never know what bit of information you may take home to save time or money during the weeks and months ahead. You may find something new to improve your home, lawn or life,” he said.
As an added bonus, many vendors will also be offering samples and prize drawings you won’t want to miss.
In addition to finding special pricing and product knowledge, everyone will be eligible to win nearly $1,000 in fantastic door prizes offered by the Harlan Newspapers. This year’s prize line-up includes: Holland Grill Patio Heater, Holland Grill and wine and accessories basket.  Prizes available only for children will include: Jam Trance mini wireless light show speaker, camping package, dog-gone great three-movie package and mini-plush Easter bunnies.
“Everyone can register, and you do not need to be present to win,” Kolbe said. “If your name is drawn, we’ll call and make arrangements for you to collect your prize,” he added.
Complete details of vendors to be in attendance are available in the special Home Show issue published in the March 15 Harlan Tribune and PennySaver, or you can visit www.harlanonline.com, and click on the “Special Sections” tab to view the e-edition.  http://www.harlanonline.com/home-garden-living-show-2016
