HCHS Choir headed to The Big Apple

I’m so excited to experience this trip with this group of kids. Their love for what they are doing shows daily in their rehearsals." -- Director Kandy Hester

HARLAN – Harlan Community vocal students are heading to The Big Apple this week for a choral performance at a historical chapel as well as sightseeing and other musical offerings in New York City.
Ninth-12th grade vocal students have been afforded the opportunity to participate on the trip.  They will perform at St. Malachy’s Actors Chapel on Thursday, April 14 at 10 a.m.  St. Malachys was founded in 1902, and is an active, integral part of the theatre district, with its parishioners including actors, dancers, musicians, craftsmen and tourists.
The Actor’s Chapel, where HCHS will perform, was constructed below the main church in 1920, and St. Malachy’s became famous as a haven of worship for the entertainment community.
