Defiance seeking titles to abandoned properties

    DEFIANCE – The City of Defiance is seeking title to three properties within the city limits that officials have determined to be abandoned.
    Petitions filed in Shelby County District Court outline the following properties the city is requesting the court grant it title to:
    •  Property at 303 5th St., owned by Maria G. Marques, Denison.  Also listed as defendant in the petition is OHP 1, LC., a limited liability company located in Davenport that may claim interest in the property.    
    •  Property at 200 8th Ave., owned by Ruth Mary Henkelman, who resides at the residence.
    •  Property at 309 Main St., owned by Jeremiah Conrad and Bridget Mahoney aka Bridget Conrad, who live in Harlan.  Also listed as defendants are Iowa Child Support Recovery Unit, Myrtue Medical Center and Deb Mahoney and persons in possession, who may have interest in the property.
